Question 1

What actually is DadFin?

Accepted Answer

DadFin is a weekly stock-picking engine for US and Canadian equities. Every Sunday it scores the listed universe, publishes five books of five names with weights, then shows what those picks did. You get the screener, the scores, the per-name research, and the public record on one site.

Question 2

Is DadFin a Koyfin alternative?

Accepted Answer

No. Koyfin is a charting workstation you configure. DadFin is an engine that already issued a verdict and will show you whether that verdict made money. Use Koyfin to explore; use DadFin to keep score.

Question 3

How does it compare to Bloomberg?

Accepted Answer

It does not replace a Bloomberg Terminal (~$2,665 per seat per month). Bloomberg covers every asset class. DadFin covers US and Canadian equities, publishes named picks, and keeps score — from $20 a month on introductory Investor pricing.

Question 4

How is it different from Seeking Alpha?

Accepted Answer

Seeking Alpha is a publishing platform: many authors, many theses, quality varying by author. DadFin is one systematic engine, one methodology on every name, and one consolidated record. Nothing here is a contributor talking their own book.

Question 5

The track record is negative right now. Why show it that way?

Accepted Answer

Because a record you only publish when it flatters you is marketing, not evidence. It is a young record. Annualised statistics stay suppressed until twelve independent observations exist. The current published figures are on the receipts board above — we do not swap this answer when the number turns green.

Question 6

How current is the data?

Accepted Answer

The full engine run is weekly, published Sunday, and every page stamps which run it is reading. The Trader Score and the price tape are live intraday, refreshed about every fifteen minutes during the session, and labelled live so you cannot mix them up.

Question 7

What is the eight-axis score?

Accepted Answer

Valuation, quality, growth, price action, risk, conviction, liquidity, and macro sensitivity — each versus the name’s own sector, not the whole market. An axis with no inputs renders as a hole, never a zero, so a data gap cannot look like a judgement.

Question 8

Is this investment advice?

Accepted Answer

No. DadFin publishes quantitative research and a record of its own published picks. It is not personalised advice, it does not know your circumstances, and nothing on the site is a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

Question 9

Do I need a card for the free week?

Accepted Answer

Yes for Investor and Trader — we take a card at signup so the week can start. You are not charged unless you stay past the free week. Cancel anytime before it ends and you pay nothing. The Letter is email only and stays $0.

Question 10

What is the difference between Investor and Trader?

Accepted Answer

Investor is the Sunday desk: all five books, screener, Vault, portfolio scoring, The Wire. Trader is Investor plus the live Trading Floor, Opportunity Map, Gap/Day/Swing compare, and 15-minute Trader Score during the session.

Question 11

What if I only want the email?

Accepted Answer

Subscribe to The Letter for $0. You get the Sunday gameplan, the Value book, the public receipts page, and the macro read — no paid desk required.
